The Long Beach Veterans Stand Down Event will take place on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, from 9 am to 2 pm., at Veterans Park, Long Beach CA. Breakfast and lunch will be served. See flyer below for more information.

Do You Need CalFresh Assistance? A rise in food insecurity.

Food insecurity is a crucial issue in Orange County, especially for low-income families. 211 OC offers CalFresh application assistance to ensure everyone in our community who needs and qualities for this supplemental program has access to its benefits.

If any one needs assistance applying for CalFresh, please contact 211OC directly. Assistance is offered in English and Spanish. Or please review the enclosed fliers.

Veteran Housing in Orange County: Where We Are and What’s Next

Join them for the OCVMFC General Meeting on Veteran Housing to discuss their current status and future plans.

Hear insights from the experts on the ground including Eric Richardson from VOALA, Melanie Martins from the VA, and Becks Heyhoe from Orange County United Way.

  • Guest speaker Doug Becht from the County’s Office of Care Coordination will share the County’s vision on veteran housing and homelessness.
  • We will review targeted veteran outreach, survey feedback, and the Welcome Home OC initiative.
  • The event will conclude with a panel discussion and Q&A session.

    Parking is free, and light refreshments will be provided.

The Orange County Veterans & Military Families Collaborative invites you to our General Meeting

The Orange County Veterans & Military Families Collaborative invites you to our General Meeting on Veterans and the Law and the outcomes of the recent USC Veterans Study.

This meeting will be at Tierney Center for Veteran Services in Tustin from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM on February 23rd at their newly built events center.

Veterans and the Law:
Please join us as we look in-depth at veterans and the OC Courts. There will be special presentations by the California Superior Court with the Honorable Mary Kreber-Varipapa, OC Family Court Judge, and the Honorable Scott Cooper, Supervising Judge of the OC Treatment Courts.

USC SoCal Veterans Study:
In addition, we are welcoming back Dr. Sara Kintzle, Research Associate Professor, Military and Veterans Programs with the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work who will present the findings of the SoCal USC Veterans Study that was recently completed.

Parking is free, and light refreshments will be provided.
